Leopoldo Erice

Pianist Leopoldo Erice is delighted to return to the Festival of the Sound to celebrate its 40th season! This summer also marks Leo’s first decade with the Festival, and he feels honoured to have been invited by Jim Campbell to return to perform in Parry Sound for the past ten years. Leo is from Spain and is a soon-to-become Canadian citizen who lives in Gatineau and teaches at the University of Ottawa. He has shared the stage with Jim multiple times, and has also performed with many other Festival friends, such as the Penderecki String Quartet, Leslie Fagan, Tsuyoshi Tsusumi, Suzanne Shulman, Jim Mason, and Moshe Hammer, among others. This year, Leo and cellist Yegor Dyachkov present a Beethoven program, which also will include Ludwig’s marvellous final solo piano sonata.
