Box Office Announcement & COVID-19 Response

Dear Festival of the Sound Friends,

The health and safety of our patrons, audience members, artists, staff and volunteers is of utmost importance to Festival of the Sound and we wanted to share with you our efforts in assessing the potential risks posed by COVID-19.

As you can understand, this is a rapidly changing situation and, considering that we are  4 months away from the 2020 Festival, it is not possible to predict the effect of COVID-19. At this time, the Festival is scheduled to proceed, and we will let you know as soon as possible if any changes or cancellations need to be made. Please know that we are working on contingency plans.

Our office is closed to the public at this time. We are monitoring the situation very closely and will continue to follow the advice of local, provincial and national public health officials in making decisions as required regarding the Festival of the Sound’s operations in respect of our 2020 Season.

Festival of the Sound will continue to work with our venue providers on implementing the best practices recommended by public health officials that are in place at the time of the Festival.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already, you will be receiving in the mail our 2020 brochure detailing all this summer’s exciting shows and events. The brochure will also be available online on our website for download today.

BOX OFFICE OPENING:
However, given the changing arts landscape in these unprecedented times of COVID-19, the Festival has decided to delay the official Box Office opening approximately five weeks. This will give us time to assess the situation.

Tickets will now go on sale on Friday, May 15th and for the foreseeable future will  only be available for purchase:
1) Online through our website HERE  (if the link does not work for you, please go to festivalofthesound.ca.), or
2) By telephone 1-866-364-0061 (locally 705-746-2410)

Please support the Festival and purchase your tickets or make a charitable donation. Your support during this uncertain time will help Festival of the Sound continue to play an important role in our community, province, country, and internationally. If the Festival is cancelled, the Festival will refund 100% of your ticket purchase price, or convert it to the 2021 season, or convert it into a charitable donation to Festival of the Sound.

STAY CONNECTED WITH US:
Jim has asked many of his colleagues to supply us with videos or links to performances so that we can all stay connected.  Our Festival artists are responding with a lot of great material and we are featuring these on our website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, and Instagram account.  Please check out these online resources often for beautiful music from our Festival family as well as for announcements and updates from us.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our Festival. We have enjoyed great music together for forty years and we will weather this storm to do so for at least forty more. Stay well, social isolate and practice good hand hygiene. We look forward to seeing you at the Festival.
