Dominic Boulianne

The charismatic Canadian pianist Dominic Boulianne is recognized for his versatile and distinguished playing in the repertoire of melody, opera and chamber music. Very active on the national and international scene, he quickly stood out as a pianist with great listening skills and extraordinary musicality.

Dominic Boulianne had the privilege of being guided during his studies in the various conservatories of the province of Quebec by exceptional musicians who shaped his strong artistic personality. In 2004 he won the prize at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal under the teaching of Ms. Suzanne Goyette. Subsequently, he benefited from the advice of André Laplante, Angela Hewitt, Pascal Roger. Noticed from his early years, he quickly distinguished himself in various regional, provincial and national competitions and he performed many times with the various symphony orchestras.

He has been invited to several international festivals in Italy, France, the United States, Tunisia, Algeria and Canada. Dominic Boulianne has accompanied several renowned artists during his career such as: Barbara Hendricks, Jean-François Lapointe, Marie-Nicole Lemieux. An eclectic pianist, he works closely with the sopranos Marie-Josée Lord and Nathalie Choquette as well as with the baritone Gino Quilico, whose arrangements he signed for his two most recent albums on the ANALEKTA label, Serata d'Amore and Secret de Noël , all two ADISQ nominees.

In addition, he worked as a répétiteur at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Kent Nagano for 3 years. He was invited as an accompanist pianist to the Festival da camera di Musica in Tocco da Casauria  (Italy). He was the assigned pianist for Jeunesses Musicales du Canada for opera productions between 2007 and 2009. In addition to his career as a pianist, he is currently the general and artistic director of the Lyric Art Society of the Kingdom.
