Krisztina Szabó

Hungarian-Canadian mezzo-soprano, Krisztina Szabó, is happy to have a varied career on the concert and operatic stage in Canada and abroad. A versatile artist, Ms. Szabó is known for her promotion and performance of contemporary works, her interpretation of early music, and her dramatic and vivid portrayals on the operatic stage. This season, Krisztina Szabó will appear as Gertrude in Hänsel und Gretel with Canadian Opera Company, makes débuts with Vancouver Symphony (Mozart Requiem), Cleveland Symphony (Mozart C Minor Mass), and Portland Baroque Orchestra (Händel’s Messiah), and will return to Music of the Baroque, Chicago (Bach B minor Mass), and Tafelmusik (St. John Passion). Ms. Szabó has been nominated twice for a Dora Award for Outstanding Female Performance. Krisztina Szabó is based in Toronto, Ontario and is a member of the Voice Faculty at the University of Toronto.
