About the Performance

For generations of Parry Sound residents, “Mr. Ferris” has been
synonymous with music, mentorship, and community spirit. As head of
the music program at Parry Sound High School for more than 30 years,
Jim Ferris inspired hundreds of young musicians while helping to
establish a culture of musical excellence that continues to thrive today.
Through his work as an educator, conductor, volunteer, and champion
of young people, Jim has enriched countless lives and helped shape
the vibrant musical community we celebrate today. It is our privilege to
honour his extraordinary legacy.
