Meagan Milatz

Meagan Milatz is “a remarkable pianist with a seemingly limitless palette of expression” (Le Devoir). Winner of the 2024 Prix Opus “Discovery of the Year”, Meagan has appeared as a soloist with orchestras across Canada and performs regularly with top international musicians such as Avi Avital, Matt Haimovitz, Stefan Dohr, Øystein Baadsvik, Cho Liang Lin, and Andrew Wan, among many others. She has performed in concert in Ireland (New Ross Piano Festival 2023), Scotland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and France. For the 2019–2020 season, Meagan embarked on a 50-concert, Canada-wide tour alongside violinist Amy Hillis as the duo meagan&amy, winner of the first-ever pan-Canadian partnership recital tour offered by Jeunesses Musicales Canada, Debut Atlantic and Prairie Debut. In 2022, she was named co-artistic and executive director of Concerts HausMusique, along with cellist Cameron Crozman. Meagan was the top prizewinner at the Shean Piano Competition, McGill Classical Concerto Competition, and Canadian Music Competition, as well as recipient of a Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award. Meagan holds a Master's degree from McGill University and is grateful to her teachers and lifelong mentors Cherith Alexander, Ilya Poletaev, fortepianist Tom Beghin, and Philip Chiu.
