Interlude: Cameron Crozman & Meagan Milatz
The Romantic Salon
Have you ever wondered what it was like to have a concert in your living room?
In the 1800s, “salon concerts” were all the rage, with the most famous artists of the day performing their music for intimate gatherings in small spaces. In Germany they even invented their own word for this kind of thing – hausmusik!
Inspired by this musical tradition, Assistant Artistic Director Cameron Crozman and pianist Meagan Milatz have curated a selection of music which will feel right at home in the cozy Festival Office. You’ll be swept up in Schumann’s jubilant outbursts and the tender melodies by Chopin and Liszt, and the centrepiece of the evening will be Schubert’s ever-delightful “Arpeggione” Sonata.
Cozy up and enjoy some hausmusik for this final Interlude concert of the season!
